Hey all, I am thinking about buying an s2000 shell and swapping a j30 in it. Has anyone done this? if so, how extensive was the work and what does it require?

 

Why would you want to swap in a bigger engine that makes less power than the F20/F22 it was designed for? If you're going to go through the trouble then go LS.

Well I just was looking at the torque for the j30a4 and it's pretty impressive.. I just have no clue if it would even be worth it or not because I don't know what it would require. My original plan was ap2 on 12 pounds with a smaller turbo.. Just because I'm not gonna really be tracking it all that often.. It's probably more worth it to just go that route then.

 

If you look around there's people who have done it. Why a J30 instead of a J35?

Inline pro just came out literally like a month ago with a S2000 to J swap kit. It has the mounts and everything you need to make it work. Personally I don't see the point in it since the stock F series is a kick *** motor boosted stock. But more power to ya for doing something different. But you can make more power on a F series cheaper.
