I did a d15y7 to a d16y8 engine build and swap in a 92 Civic DX. The block is 1998 VTEC block but I still have the D15y7 tranny. I wish to swap the tranny, what will actually fit?

First off, there's no such thing as a D15Y7. Second off, this has been answered a million times, and you need to put in just a modicum of effort to search.

Please keep the discussion focused on tech.

More information is needed. For example, is the transmission manual or auto?

Are you specifically asking whether a 96-00 Civic EX transmission can be swapped into a 92 Civic? A thread title summarizing your tech question would help.
