Okay, I have searched and searched and found a lot of mixed info on this. Just hoping i can get my parts list locked down. We are building a new racecar for chumpcar.
Car is a CANADIAN 99 civic SI (USDM EX). power steering, sub-frame is rotten, we want to convert to manual steering. I also bought a B18B swap for it with integra mounts and T bracket.
From what i have read, if i put a 92-95 manual steering sub-frame and rack in the car i can use the Integra mounts. But i need 92-95 civic, 94-01 integra or del sol lower control arms and my swaybar must be from one of those cars as well. plus i need the correct subframe bolts from the car i get the frame out of. I am 99% sure all of that is right.
Were the confusion comes in at, is the joint from the rack to the colume. Do i get the manual steering one from the 92-95 civic, or the one from my 99 SI? Hopping to do the full B-series swap and subframe all at one time so the car is drivable in and out of the trailer.
Also i still have a power steering joint from our del sol. So i figured if i have all 3 i should be able to find one that works.

Is there a reason why you need to use a 92-95 eg subframe? Why can't you just locate an ek manual rack/pinion? Why waste time when there is already a solution?

We need a sub-frame anyway as ours is just about rusted apart.
From what i have read the EG sub-frame is lighter then the EK and gives more room to work around. It also will allow us to use the integra rear T mount. If we stay with the EK, I need to find a SIR (canadian version of the USDM SI) rear T mount. I really need to add that to the first post. Major confusion point. A canadian SI is like a USDM EX. D16Y8 motor. lol.
I found a Good EK subframe for $250, Manual rack will cost between $100-300. Slim picking in Nova Scotia as most have been crushed by now. easiest to buy a refurbished for $300. I found a good EG manual subframe with Manual rack and joint (plus a good gas tank) for $200. At that point i just need control arms and stock integra sway-bar.

grab the lca's from an integra if you're using the eg subframe. You'll be able to install integra swaybars. I just don't remember if the eg lca's have the holes to mount an integra swaybar. If they do than you should be good.

Some civic LCAs have the sway-bar hole some do not. I am going to a local U-pick sat morning for the first time and i know they have a few integras, hoping one already has its motor out as it will make getting the sway-bar easier. lol But i did find new aftermarket LCAs for $94 CAN each. But i think the U-pick says just $15 a control arm.
Main question is still the steering joint. Ill have the Power steering one from the EK, i have a Power steering one from our Del Sol racecar, and should have a manual steering one from the EG we are getting the rack out of.
