1988 Civic(280,000 miles apx) Car was running fairly well(a little hesitation and lack of power sometimes) until water pump went oit. When the timing cover was removed it was found that tensioner bolt for the pulley had backed out and wedged it self and maintained some pressure on belt. New belt/tensioner/waterpump were installed.
Rotated crankshaft manual a few times to insure smooth rotation. When the car was resemble and started it idled fine but when I attempted to drive car started shutter heavily and check engine light came on.
Installed new distributor (including cap/button/coil and all other internal parts). Car idled much better but problem still persisted when trying to drive. Fault codes are #48 and 154.
