the website states that
"Combination hydro-mechanical Parking Brake calipers use hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder for stopping power, and an internal mechanical lock within the caliper for a parking brake. "
but I couldn't find any information and it is connected to the master cylinder..


anyone have more information??

Do you have drum brakes in back?

 

If I had a thousand dollars to spend on my car I don't think this is how I would spend it.

 

From what I understand the rears on the CRX/Civic chassis just don't get stressed unless you are tracking the car. Wilwood make great stuff, but like GeoMetry stated I don't know if I would buy this when you can get a junkyard conversion and probably be as effective.

 

It connects to the hydraulic system using the same lines to provide hydraulic pressure from the master to the calipers fpr stopping power, just like the front discs. But it just has a screw type actuator with a connection to the e-brake cable for the parking brake. Most of wilwood's kits require 15" or bigger wheels, and like mentioned above, its cheaer tp get an integra or an si rear swap and will still have similar performance.

 

I have wilwood 4 pistons on my front and stock style discs in the back. ESB slotted rotors, hawk pads in the back. I also have a upgraded 7/8 master cylinder and steel braided brake hoses.

I have driven this car for a bit on the street, and have yet to have to slam on my brakes with full force. Honestly, I'd be scared to actually use the brakes to their full potential because I'm sure I'd break my ribs on my four point harness from being thrown forward.

I don't think it is worth it except for the bling factor.

 

But to answer your question. If you have discs or do the conversion you should be able to use this setup on those trailing arms.

 

Additionally, I got my conversion from a 92-95 civic. When looking at the discs and calipers from that year, they looked as if they were the same as the 88-91 gen. But I would recommend getting the conversion first and getting the BBK that corresponds to the trailing arms.
