I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX Sedan AT with the ulev 2.3L engine and am looking into changing the motor mounts but do not know which ones are best for it?

 

Best would be the OEM mounts from Honda.

 

From experience, OEM lasts much longer. Aftermarket is cheaper and tempting, especially with lifetime warranties like AutoZone. Only problem with aftermarket, other than not lasting, is having to do the rear mount (by the firewall). That one's a b*tch and a half and one you don't want to have to do more than once, even if it is warrantied. So if your budget doesn't allow for OEM all around, at least go OEM on that rear mount.

 

On my 92, I really like the Anchor branded mounts. They looked identical to the OE mounts down to the casting markings - My guess is that they bought Honda's tooling. This is not the case for other brands I've used (DEA in particular had really severe fit and quality issues).

I also have my rear mount as a Beck/Arnley, no problems with it either, but more expensive than the Anchors.

 

I recently found that I could extend the life of my motor mounts by dousing them heavily with AT-205 Re Seal. It is a rubber conditioner/softener. I got rid of most of the vibration I was feeling in the car this way and I think the AT-205 will also make the existing mounts last longer by keeping them soft enough that they won't crack. Cracking leads to breaking. I got the idea from Scotty Kilmer - he uses it internally in the engine oil and transmission to rejuvenate rubber seals to stop small leaks and also as a preventive measure to keep leaks from starting at the seals. It won't stop a head gasket or valve gasket leak - only internal seals that have metal springs pushing on them - watch Scotty's video on YouTube if you have questions about AT-205.
