Default 1993 Civic del Sol S Integrated Control Unit Compatability

Hey everyone. I am having a hard time finding a replacement integrated control unit for my 1993 del Sol S. I was going to try and refurbish the old one, since often you can just touch up some old solder connections to get it to work again, but when I pulled it I found it to be in pretty bad shape. Lots of burns, etc. So I thought I'd buy another one and that's when things started to suck.
The original part is discontinued and hard to find on e-bay.
Honda Part # 38600-SR3-A13
Later ICU's are easier to find, but I'm not 100% sure if they're a direct swap or not. The 1996,97 ICU part number is #38600-S01-A11.
So the question is, can I use the later 38600-S01-A11 to replace my ICU in my 1993 del Sol S? Can I use an ICU from a similar model, like a Civic, instead?

Did you try to use or compare it with the Civic 92-95 ones.... going into a Junk car Yard... if you can get the electronic diagram for each 92-95 and 96-00 to make the conversion... good luck

Thanks for the replies. I was able to e-bay the following part 38600SR3A130M1 and it arrived as a complete fuse box and ICU. The ICUs were identical between the old and new even though the part numbers were different. I'm back in business. Still, since I never intend on getting rid of this car, I would have liked to use new (or refurbished as new) parts, but all things considered I'm very happy with the results .

Shoulda got the newer one. Direct swap and would have given you a lights-on chime, increasing functionality. Oh well, live and learn!

Hey man does it really work fine if you were to swap with a newer one?
