Default 93 Civic DX Starting problem

I have a 93 civic dx that has been acing up the past few months. it was running fine with a new dizzy and bam it started dying at stops. I found out my valve cover gasket was broken and let oil onto the spark plugs. I replaced the gasket and plugs and she drove fine for a week or so. While i was trying to figure that out my alternator went out on me. I replaced that and the problems went away. Now my car is having problems wanting to start. Sometimes it will start right up other times it will start for a second, stall and not want to start again. I am so lost and don't know where to look now. Last time i checked i had spark and fuel. (will re check tomorrow) I sprayed carb cleaner on the vacuum lines and found no leaks. Autozone tested my battery and its fine so yeah. Any advice would be appreciated

Having spark isn't particularly diagnostically useful. Check the color of the spark. Also, if you had oil going down your spark plug tubes, it's not unlikely that it damaged the plug wire boots, and now instead of all of the juice going to the spark plug, some of it is arcing off and grounding on the head.

Replace your plug wires with NGK. If that doesn't help, check your ignition timing.

When I re tested the spark my car started each time with white/blue spark. The very first time it took a few tries on the first cylinder. I'm guessing maybe my dizzy rotor is going. I read that sporadic spark can cause the dying. I bought new plug wires and it still was acting up. My old ones are clean and the ngk ones so I'm keeping them over auto zone cheap wires. Next I'm replacing my engine growing wire. It is old and corroded slightly. Also looking into fuel filter.

So...I said replace your wires with NGK, and you replaced them with cheap *****. I said you should check your ignition timing, and you didn't.

Do you actually want help?
