Default Problems with my JDM D15B non vtec

Hello everybody
I'm new into the honda life.. so far I got a 1997 Honda Civic DX 4 door sedan 5 speed manual.

Basically car has no original engine its swapped by a jdm motor previous owner was going nissan so he told me you can have it for few hundred dollar$ so I got it and I'm now working on the car to get it running.

The motor it's a JDM D15B non vtec don't know if the head its a usa version or also JDM D15B but the valve cover it's painted red possible but either way here I'm putting some pictures,

my car info and the ECU, wires that came with the car

my car diagnosis it was temporary driveable with the P06 ECU that I showed above, but every day car was giving me a hard time to start it up 1 minute after 2 minutes lately 10 minutes now it don't starts at all just keeps cranking but nothing so my buddy recently had a problem with his motor same car like mine, 1998 civic 4 door sedan lx version sunroof and 5 speed manual, with a difference that he did a swap a jdm d15b on his block says ZC non vtec and his ECU it's a P72 Mugen 2 step chip from 2000 GSR , ok now so his car started right up no problem and I think wait a minute, I asked him to let me use his ECU P72 for 1 second right.. I installed to my car and boom started right up no problem but now few honda guys here in my area says.. don't use the P06 anymore.. go use the P72, others P28, P28 chipped, P08.. geez.. I don't want to make my engine a time bomb or playing with different ECU's.. all I want it's to run non vtec just simple daily with the jdm D15B that it's in it my transmission it's a S40 5 speed manual.

Here's my friends engine JDM d15b ZC non vtec full block and head all came together in 1 piece and dropped in 1 piece to his sedan 4 dr civic, his transmission it's also a S40 same like mine. also Im posting pictures of his ECU and wiring too.

You guys, let me know what's best ecu should I go for my JDM D15B Non Vtec.. if you guys needs additional pictures to make sure if it's the original head with the red valver cover that it's in my car that might came together with the JDM d15b block or possible it's a usa version swapped.. IDK if it's the original head from my JDM D15B. either way I just want to make this baby run healthy, reliable and daily as it is that I have in my car with the JDM D15B non Vtec . what ECU it's recommended to go and drive as non vtec with my JDM D15B...

Thanks I'm learning the honda life now

******* frankenmotors. This is why you don't mess around with frankenmotors.

Get a socketted ECU. Doesn't matter which one. Call Xenocron, tell them the clusterfuck of parts you have, and buy a basemap chip from them. Install chip in socketted ECU. Done.

P2A-3 is a 96 ZC head.
