Default Blew my clutch in less than a day???

I just purchased a 1997 Acura integra GSR with 78550 miles on it. I have only had it on the road for less than 24 hours and clutch is gone it won't engage at all. I guess I was riding the clutch and shifting almost at redline. For most of the time I only put 35 miles on the car so far. My question is are clutches really that fragile?! It showed no signs of going bad. Note *this is my first manual transmission car*

Clutches are not that fragile. Chances are it was on its way out. at 80K miles, it can use a fresh clutch disc , pressure plate and resurfaced flywheel ( or new one )
