Default engine choice track car

hello,

a couple of monds ago i made the choice to start building a track/time attack/ weekend racer out of my ej9.
now the suspension of the car is almost compleet for heavy abuse now i need to make a choice what engine i want to run.

at first the idea was to drive a build d16z6 turbo because of the weight

but i want to know other options and experiences from people i had a couple of ideas myself.

b18b/b1 turbo the only thing is this engine is almost imposible to find here in europe.

b20 with vtec swap + bolt ons what i read good power but weak cilinder walls??

b18c with bolt ons heard good things about his engine only thing is alot of people driving this and i like to be different

h2b swap good strong engine's but on the other side relatively heavy causing oversteer.

k swap good power and al lot of potential but high cost for the swap

this where a couple of ideas i had myself so now i'm looking for driving exeriences and opinions about handeling and driving it on the track.

this project is not the typical low budget build i want to take time to do the right thing the first time and i'm prepared to put much time and money in the right engine.

I would in my opinion do a b18c turbo . I'm going to do this for my street / track crx . currently have a b18a1 makes good power with bolt ons. Runs good and handles well with everything .

The b18c is a good option especialie because in a couple of weeks i get an 98 itr for breaking.
But in combination with a turbo wil it be a reliable engine because of the high compresion and the cilinder walls That can turn oval.
But if i sleeve the Block and build it isnt there a beter option for the money i wil put in building the engine to build it.

I'm aiming for 250whp but with the option to build further to go to 300 or even more.

a b20v will get you to 250 maybe a little higher but they do not like boost at all, cyl walls are extremely week, so if your goal is to be at 300 or over go for a gsr, b16, or ls vtec if you can find a block for it. those will all make 300 on stock internals

A Stock engine is hard to beat. Runs good and you gotta work it hard to overheat. Any engine can work. B series, H series, k series can all be fast.
