S80 synchro hub question
I'm just in the process of fitting new carbon synchros and mfactory gears, it was all going well till I read this in the transmission rebuild guide from DanGSR:
"the syncro sleeve ring goes on a very specific way
the sleeve has 3 pairs of raised teeth that needs to go in a specific spot on the syncros, it can be installed wrong, and will go on wrong
and you will find out the hard way if you did it incorrectly"
"and the Helms book has a misprint on the 3/4 slider piece orientation"
I'm pretty sure I rotated the sleeves and they only drop in one way, does anyone have a picture of what is meant to line up with what exactly? The pics are missing from the thread and apparently the helms is wrong anyway. Any help much appreciated

The longer teeth go 1/2 way between the square openings for the blocker part of the synchro. If the longer teeth are installed in the square section it will break the spring. On the 3-4 hub the hub is installed with the U opening towards 3rd gear on the GSR/ITR/B16A and with the U opening towards 4th on an LS model.
