Ok so this is my first time posting on a forum ever. my buddy had a problem where he would turn his key and the car wouldn't start 99%of the time. i replaced the ignition lock cylinder. no luck and here are the results.
new key turns but not to the point where the starter would engage. wont turn past II. pulled the cylinder out and used a screwdriver and it will turn but wont start. getting some weird clicking when i wiggle the shifter. bypassed the neutral saftey switch in the center console still nothing. kinda stumped on this one.

 

pretty sure that the new cylinder is bad. stuck the old one in this morning car started right up. next time it acts up i will check the starter. haha my dad called me an idiot for not checking it. cant argue
