Default 93 Del Sol - engine swap question

Hello there, I just got a 93 del sol that only has the 1.6 engine but I'd like to upgrade the engine. I know there's a V-Tec motor for them and I used to have a 80's CRX and was planning on doing a D16 swap in it but life happens and I no longer have the CRX. Though I would like to know what engines fit in my del sol

If you aren't trolling, you're a very lazy person.

Whys that? Is it already in a post or something? No I'm not lazy I just couldn't find the answer anywhere so I started asking the forums. Believe me if I were lazy I think I would be dead from my accident but I'm still here and kickin and not a lot of people would have survived the accident. And if you're not gonna help me with a answer then all I can say is, do the letters F O mean anything to you

Have you taken the time to read through the faq sticky? That would answer most of your questions.

You couldn't find the answer anywhere?!

A 23 year old car and nobody has posted anything about an engine swap, anywhere. Not to mention that Honda has three different variants of the Del Sol and that information is totally missing from the Internet?!

Do the letter G O O G L E mean anything to you? Don't forget the .com

Like I said F O you're not on the site to be a problem, but to help. If you're so deeply disturbed that you have to give people trouble why don't you find yourself another place to let out your deep seeded emotional problems...

Okay so I'm looking through the FAQs and now I'm wondering which engine is the best price because I'm working on a budget, being the reason I was gonna do the D16 swap in the CRX. So which engines would be cheaper the B16, B18 or B20? I'm guessing the H20A would cost more so I think I can write it off

Okay I was just looking at another engine swap question and nobody gave him BS but it would appear that I can still do a D16 swap in the del sol and I know those engines are good but in comparison with the CRX with the D16 how much would the del sol lack with this swap

So let's say someone tells you an engine swap costs X dollars. Your next question is where do I get an engine.

Why don't you put in the time and effort to find the answers to your questions and then come back when you have specific questions on what you don't understand instead of wasting everyone's time asking questions that have not only been answered already, but can be easily found.

There are Honda specific forums, Del Sol specific forums, engine swap forums. There are books about engine swaps. Blogs about engine swaps. And all you've done is said you searched and couldn't find anything. Everyone on this site knows you didn't search. Everyone.

When you help yourself, others will help you.

Start with Google and type your exact question in the search box.

You have put zero effort in. You are coming to us, expecting us to spoon feed you, while blatantly ignoring the FAQ and rules stickies. Those two stickies are not optional reading, and by ignoring them, you are showing complete disrespect to the people who have been involved in putting them together. And you think we're going to help you? That's not how things work around here. Square yourself away, put in a modicum of effort, and then come back to us.

And Honda doesn't make an H20A engine. That's a Suzuki V6. Good luck getting one of those running in your Honda.

And no I'm not looking to be spoon fed, I'm just looking for some suggestions on the engine and if you didn't see I moved forward and was asking a new question. I don't know much about this car yet and all I asked from the get go was what engines fit for cheap with little modification aside from the obvious whirring

And after thinking about it I'll keep the engine if all any of you can do is give me grief for a simple question. I'll just add a cold air intake and a super charger

Dude, just google it! There are entire online articles on swaps based on all kinds of information - difficulty, cost, ability.

Just to prove to you that we all know you didn't search anything; here are the top three google results for "Del sol engine swap".

[QUOTE=Jaymzbo32;50736403]Already have Googled it and read those and the first one has a few engines in it though I haven't read the complete swap guide. And several years ago I joined this site to ask about my CRX and even though the question was already asked someone responded in no time so bite me

I will very much as it will be cheaper than a motor, whirring harness and most of the front end of another car plus like I said it already has a cannon muffler

Despite the fact that this has been covered in detail and is available through searching the forum, how was a new member to know that? I think we all need to chill out a little, point the OP in the right direction so he at least has a few resources available, and then let him do some research...instead of jumping down his throat for not knowing some of this "basic" Honda info.

Not everyone that pops into this forum has all the answers - sometimes they're looking for guidance because the internet is full of opinions and bullshit.

OP - Start HERE!!

Thank you man that's all I'm saying, you wouldn't think people would get hostile over a simple question that there's a million ways to do being the reason I ask. I have looked on google but am not finding the answer I'm looking for, I don't get why some of these people are even able to post. I'm not new to cars and I do know a bit about Honda's though I am not ashamed to say that I don't know a lot about them but I really don't know much about this car. As I said I had a CRX and that's where I started learning about engine swaps. That and a old passed on buddy who had a 90 si hatch with a Integra engine and transmission, and damn was that car fast

No it wasn't. I promise you it wasn't. I guarantee you it wasn't. H22A? Yeah, probably. H20A? **** no.

OP put in no effort, didn't read the FAQ sticky (which is a sticky for a reason), and expected us to spoon feed him information. He then claimed to have searched, when he very clearly didn't - if he had, he wouldn't have started this thread the way that he did. From there, he then went on to ask which is "best price", which again, failure to read and follow rules - question belongs in the value sticky. He then goes off on a tangent about a motor that isn't even a Honda motor, and refuses to listen when told that he was incorrect.

Do you see why he's gotten the responses he has so far? He walked in here, **** all over our forums, **** all over our rules, and showed complete disregard and disrespect for the people who have worked to keep this forum functional, both through moderation, as well as through the curation and maintenance of the FAQ sticky.

In short, he slapped every one of us in the face, and it's a minor miracle that he's gotten the responses he has without this turning into an absolute shitshow.
