run, don't walk, from any of the 8v heads . . . they are junk and a complete waste of time.

b8s don't even have roller rockers like the b6s did.

Keep the y7 head and have it milled a bunch if you want to raise compression that way

If you have a 16 valve head, it most certainly is not a b8.

d15b8s came in the CX models and were the repackaged HF models . . . fuel economy above all else, including HP.

Then someone, somewhere along the way swapped to another head before you got the motor.

Check the code on the head on the exhaust side.

the pm3s are the obd-0, 16v, 88-91 heads.

It could be off a b1, b2, or a6 . . . someone realized that the b8 head was a boat anchor and went ahead and swapped the head out for you

It would fit and work just fine. The only differences I know of revolve around the relocation of the spark plug to enter from the exhaust side and the spark plug boss being changed from part of the casting before 1995 to the metal shield the VTEC heads have/had.

From what I've seen, the ports in the non-vtec heads look the same but I don't have any besides a pm3 here in front of me

PM3 has also been found on the obd1 D15B7 heads as well as the D16A6 Heads. I've also seen it on JDM D15B heads.

The B7 and A6 heads share the same specs with the exception of valve springs and cam shafts. Even there I heard in 95 they ran out of B7 springs so used the A6 springs instead as they are the same size and height, just a little stiffer.

It's good to know the old B2 is the same head.
