Hi, I usually work on 93-94 Sols, but I'm in the middle of making my Nieces 05 Accord LX Sedan drive-able.

Its got Manual AC and for some reason previous owner hacked the harness to install a Sony radio! (WTF ppl?!?)

The Climate lights don't work now, so I'm trying to trace the wire to get that to work, as I don't want her trying to turn on the dome light to set the vents. Especially in the cold this winter!

So, does anyone know what the color wire is to the climate backlights, or can lead me to a manual or something?

EDIT: I wired them into the old harness (it was 3/4 hacked) and tried to get it to light up.

Had a light for a moment, but then it started smoking from somewhere!?!

I guess I need to unplug any hot wires from the old radio (even tho the new radio wasn't connected) because I have no idea why they replaced it in the first place!

I wired back all the hot wires, and I can get the radio to turn on and ask for a code, and get the vent light to dim, but I can't get the Climate Lights to come on again..

Did something blow inside the guts there? Anything I can straight wire to to see if they still even work?

Ok, I guess I blew this fuse somehow. But it seems like an easy fix.

PS, MODS, can you change the title to "05 Accord Climate Light out!" or something more accurate. thanks!

 

Ok, I got it all apart, and of course, the fuse is NOT on the board!!

So, I guess I'm going to have to run a hot source thru the harness and trace it till it stops.

Ok, I'm going to bypass the harness with the wire for the lights straight to the bottom panel and the #1 pin. that way it uses the ground from the radio, and just lights the 3 LEDs.. The radio may not be backlit, (I may also leave off the backlight wire too tho) but at least she will be able to change the Climate when its dark and fogging up.
