I have a 2004 Acura tsx. I just bought it from a guy a few weeks ago. It cranks and runs just won't drive. He said he didn't notice any warning signs of anything wrong with the car or it driving. He said he was sitting at a red light and when it turned green he went to go but the car wouldn't drive. That's what he said anyway. But from my experience with the car I have gotten it to go into gear by cranking it putting it into drive. If it won't go into gear the first time I turn it off and repeat that until it DOES go into gear. When i finally get it into gear and get the car to drive. It will only drive a few feet and it just stops going, acting like it's in neutral. It just revs up when giving it gas while sitting still. ALSO the radio,windshield wipers,power locks, and power Windows do not work. The radio says "code error.". A couple people told us that the car is in "safe mode.". Please let me know if anybody has had the same problems or may know what's wrong.

 

Could be alot of things. Electrical problem, transmission, ecu, etc.... I would take a look at one thing at a time starting with the easiest. Good luck.

 

have you scanned it to see what codes its putting out. I would lean towards it being in safe mode for some reason, maybe an issue with the ecm or wiring short.
