Icon4 98 Civic Lx Seized Transmission

I was on the freeway while when all of a sudden my front wheels seized up and I skidded to a stop. The car is manual and won't go in to gear but will die and if the clutch is not depressed. The front wheels will stay locked up as long as the clutch is not depressed as well. Im going to start by draining the transmission oil to see if there are parts of the transmission broke off but I was looking for some advice from anyone with a similar issue or experience fixing this problem. If you have any questions, I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. Thanks guys.

Have you checked the shift linkage?
