Help me build my CR-V
I recently purchased a first gen manual CR-V with intensions to turbocharge it.
I'm almost done putting together a forged stock sleeve 81.5 LSVTEC with 10.5:1 pistons and I'd like some advice selecting the right turbo.
I have 450 HP in mind. What would you guys suggest?

I remember RevIllusion's CR-V turbo build. You can still get good ideas there.

I'm trying to convince one of my m8's to sell me his GT35r. I forgot he had one laying around.
Yes, the GT30R is a Garrett turbo. It's also probably gonna cost you more than a grand new. Give STC a call, they might have something right with what you need.

That's what you sound like right now, Patchybooboo. OP gave us a goal, gave us a budget, and I pointed him in the direction of something within his budget. If you don't like that, then what purpose are you serving in this thread exactly? I haven't seen you actually try to offer any help...

^ yeah man I really want to get one tbh, for when I go 400+. Especially if I decide to go no bov
750 for a confirmed t3, and the cheaper ones were mostly if not all t4s w/divided housing.

Well, if the OP wants to be a real baller get an EFR turbo
But nah seriously, if you have to fork over 1100 for an s200 then I would think the gt30 is probably the superior route.

I'd argue that the S256 is the better option. It makes the same power, has great response, and unlike the GT30r, is a less expensive rebuild. Also, since the BW is only oil-cooled, it tends to be a bit cheaper than the GT30r line because it doesn't require coolant lines.
gt30r spools slightly faster. needs water lines
s256 spools slighty slower, but can make more power. oil cooled so no water lines. and rebuildable.
thats all info i found on here way back in 09 when i was tryin decide on a unit.
same here with the s256 being the better option

I hear you guys, but I figured the (supposed) couple hundred rpm faster spool and better transient response would make it an all around better performing turbo for the most part. I too, read about how the BW is better for the fact that it's rebuildable and can take more abuse in general (going off what I've read here) but I don't think I've every heard of a gt30 going bad. I mean, they are built to last what, 300k+ miles I believe? I don't think the OP would ever be rebuilding one, unless he sucked in rocks to the compressor or had a shitty manifold sending metal through the turbine.
All that being said though I was checking out STC's site and I'm extremely impressed by some of the prices...is it just me or do they really have a gt3076r for 1100?
P.S Speaking of STC, predator and Silver surfer are in the same area as the s256, how do you guys think they compare? Have only heard great things about both.

ls joker. You seem to make the impression that the use of water lines is a negative point to running the GT30[76R] vs. the S256. Is that what I'm understanding here?
