Default Need a little help choosing a Wastegate.

My good friend has a drag III kit on a LS motor right now.

He is going to upgrade the Deltagate to the Tial.

Most of the time he runs 9-10psi.
Sometimes he goes up to 15psi, at the track.
When he gets the hondata installed he will run up to 17psi.

So, what spring do you guys recommend.

.3, .45, .65, .8, .95, 1.1, 1.35, 1.5

Personally, I don't understand how they work. Sure without a boost controller the springs settings is the boost you will get. But with the control of a boost controller that's not the case. Right?

Thanks

When you run high amounts of boost even with a boost controller, it is better to upgrade the spring to the desired boost that you are looking to run. A boost controller does bypass it, but where is the boost controller hooked up again? you get the idea

Ok, that sounds good. I get the idea.

So should he get the spring closer to the MAX boost he wants to run. Or the spring for the daily driven boost levels?

If you get the spring that suits MAX boost then he can't run anything lower then what MAX boost is. So let's say he gets 1 bar spring, he can run higher then 1bar with a boost controller but wont be able to run anythign lower then 1 bar.

Ok, that makes sense.

So you can never run Lower then the springs settings.

But you can always run higher. Except you want to stay closer to the middle of your boost options.

Thanks Guys...

So if he wanted to run 9-17psi

.65 would be best.

9.5 Psi lowest setings.
Close enough to 17 psi I guess.

Exactly, get the spring for the lowest boost he plans to run. We run a 9si spring in a racegate and run a little more boost than 9psi
