Lsv or gsr,?
The shop i have my eg in is a reliable place and they build beast's .. Also life time warranty if something messes up ... but i want power, an also be able to use as my daily driver.. So idk weather to go lsv or straight gsr.
The only benefit of the GSR would be that you dont have to mess with it - its a straight drop-in swap. If you're building it, that logic goes out the window.
The reason people have issues with LS/VTECs is because they're shottily built by people who think they know what they're doing. If you build it correctly, its like any other engine.
My built LS/VTEC is still alive and well - its been together since 2009 and has been making 400+whp since 2010. Its all in how you build and maintain it

That sounds beautiful man.. Congrats to your build and well i want power and something dependable at the same time cuz its ganna be my daily driver and well the motor is completly rebuilt 00 on the miles.. Brand new everything but i wanted to run lsv due to the torque and acceleration it has.. But they say gsr is more dependable built or stock.. Ima build it and boost it soon just gotta get the bills out the way.. So idk wether to go lsv or gsr.. And the guy im haveing build my motor knows what hes doing.. But i just dont know what i want.. I just need an opinion on what would be better..
Either one will do well on boost. If you're using stock components, they'll both handle the same power (roughly 3-350whp, depending on many variables). Ringlands are the weakpoint in either stock rotating assembly. If you're building for boost, choose a 4032 piston if this is going to be your daily....Reason being that 2618 expands more and with a greater variety in cold/warm weather (due to it being your daily), they have more piston slap and can cause excessive cylinder wear. Just my $.02

That forging suggestion works for either LS or GSR, but again, building it (with forged pistons/rods) isn't required unless you're aiming for 350+whp. I'd focus on the here and now...get that engine together and running, then start with a stock block turbo setup, then build, increase power, etc....its all a progression.
I already have forged pistons for it .. Just dont know if it needs anything else while its appart barrings rings gaskits everything is new,...an a new polished craink shaft .. The motor is in great condition just going to put it together and throw it in the EG hopefully when I get the money I'll buy a turbo for it and boost it but right now it's going to be my daily driver Just wanted some Power and torque but also wanted it reliable.. Its like a brand new motor freshly rebuilt hasnt even seen oil yet.. But i highly appreciate the Info .
