Aight, so I did an auto to manual swap on my Del Sol last summer and I've never had the shift boot looking right to me. How is it supposed to go? On the bottom of the shift ****, it's a good bit smaller than the top, so it seems like that plastic ring should go up and around it, but I've tried and tried and it won't go up there. Is it just supposed to sit right under the **** and not be pulled over it?
Does it just push up to the bottom?
It doesn't seem right that it should just fall down like this. Sorry for how dirty the console and boot are. I just got them from a junkyard today. My old one was way too messed up.
There are ways to make the boot sit up flush to the **** like using a zip-tie on the shift lever underneath the boot or you can buy a collar ring from the RSX or CTR or some car like that.
