Default 98 Integra Oil Filters

What is the deal with Honda going to the Generic oil filter to fit every car?
Went to the dealer and they had the: 15400-PLM-A02 I think?

Is this not the part number?
  1. 15400-PR3-004
  2. 15400-PR3-305

The 15400-PLM-A02 is a larger filter, does that mean better? I wouldn't think so? May have to go aftermarket. What do you use?

The Fram ultra XG3593A(or ultra 7317 which is the smaller version) is the best filter for the money. It is a long drain with very high efficiency and the construction of it is unparalleled. I do oil changes every 4k and i leave the filter on for 3 runs.

The a02 filter is made by Fram i believe.

I used to use PCX S2000 oil filters on my integra. I use them now on my TSX.

Reasons:
-I saw some post with a bunch of mumbo jumbo about how they can help to reduce oil consumption.

-To my surprise, they actually reduced (greatly!!!) my TSX's oil consumption (combined with Castrol 0W30...which I'm sure also helped because its so GD thick).

-This combination also seems to have almost eliminated the famous TSX start up rattle. Something about a stiffer anti-drainback valve in the PCX filter.

-I bought gangs of them for my S2000. So I had a bunch laying around.

Its noteworthy that you almost surely CANNOT fasten a S2000 filter by hand. Use a wrench and torque it. Or use a strap wrench and tighten it via the clocking method written on the filter.

What is the filter number for this PCX for the Integra?

PCX a partial part number for an OEM S2000 oil filter.

It is for the S2000.

It works on the integra and quite a few other Hondas.

From what i know honda changed oil filter manufacturers a few years ago and the "mumbo jumbo" is now not as valid. They are made by the same company as FRAM which use cardboard endplates in the filter, the old one's had metal endplates. Toyo Roki (sp) the old s2k filters are the ones you are looking for, if it's Filtech it's a FRAM that has a blue case that costs more. I used to get HAMP filters (green case) but they are pricey. Search oil filters on here for some better info.
