Default Optional Armrest

Does anyone have scans of the instructions, or pics of how the Honda optional armrest fits in a 90 Civic hatch? I just got one, brackets included, but there are no instructions. I figured out that the brackets go under the front seat bolts in the rear, but when I try to line up the bracket holes with the armrest, it seems to make the armrest be very far toward the rear. My arm barely reaches it when I am sitting, and I am not that short. Just wanted to know if this is correct. I saw the instructions for a Wagon armrest online, but the brackets are very different.

Thanks in advance.

I have factory install instructions but will have to look for them; they are either in my basement in the oem box or I had put them with my former car records, will have to dig tomorrow for them…too busy now to do either.
it is for a civic hatchback oem armrest, that car is not in my signature now. Heck i need to update my sig too.
