I have a 2004 Honda Element EX. Bought new in 2004, 138K miles.

Having start problems... replaced relay on steering wheel myself -- didn't help. Took to local mechanic, He installed new starter, starts fine. Noticed radio/security system has no power. Key fob lights up. Door locks operate when key is on, but not when off. Key in ignition warning doesn't work. Checked radio fuse under dash, is good. Checked fuses under hood, all appear to be ok. Anybody have an idea where problem might be? Could they have shorted something while replacing the starter? I have already disconnected the ground cable to the battery and uninstalled the radio and reinstalled, hoping that might reset it. By the way, the radio and security system are OEM.

FYI, I have double-checked all the wires on the steering column and they appear to be in place.
