Default IAT resistor modification

has anyone done that IAT resistor modification? is it safe? what are the gains?

hes talking about them ebay advanced timing kits. From what I heard, they dont do sheit but then again I could be wrong

yeah thats where i saw it. its supposed to trick the ecu into thinking your intake temp is colder than it really is

... or you could learn how to chip your ECU and advance the timing tables ...

By replacing the IAT sensor with a fixed value resistor, you are simulating intake air temp for that specific value of resistance that you use. In other words, if the ambient temps are high enough, you MAY get a minor gain. If they are lower, (since winter is coming in a lot of the country) you may get worse performance. Basically it's a resistor you get from Radio Shack, ( I don't recall the value). Go to clubrsx.com and search for "timing advance". You'll find a bucket-load of information regarding the mod.
