2000 Civic Fuse #44 keeps blowing...
My daughters 2000 Honda Civic 16dy7 engine keeps blowing fuse under hood #44. Her car died driving our grandson to daycare, had it towed to my place, tested switch above the pcm, it's good, as long as fuse #44 is switched. Start car and go for a drive fuse #44 blows, at different mileage intervals. My question is : do I peel the harness a part and look for shorts under the hood, or could it be at the fuel pump electrical end....or is there an easier way of checking why this fuse { 44 } keeps blowing out on her car. I can't return the car to her like this, I'm worried for my grandson, and my daughter has minimal funds, thanks simers
Thank you for the reply Ron, I'm heading back out to my shop to run these tests from the link that you provided. I'll comment back if I can isolate the short, but as I mentioned it appears to be intermittent, but we'll give her a go, thanks again....
Intermittent is tricky. If you can get fuse 44 to blow somewhat reproducibly by only turning key to ON(II), then you have the opportunity to troubleshoot and pinpoint the short.
K, I believe I have the problem resolved, it's a little late { dark } to o for a romp around the country side, so I'll comment on my results tomorrow, thanks again Ron, your assistance was very much appreciated....simers
