Default EG subframe in ek

Okay so i bought a 2000 hatchback b18b1 gsr trans. Now the car used to be k swapped. EG subframe, plus all the necessary fabrication. I do plan on going K next year as im saving up for good quality parts. So right now im going to just stick with the b series thats in here until the time comes. Now my car needs new mounts and I noticed my axles sit kind of funny. I have no idea what t bracket the car has on it, the previous owner did the work. All I know is my motor most likely sits lower then normal and my exhaust hangs lower then if i had the normal ek subframe with the proper T bracket. Not too much lower but you notice because of the amount of scraping then with previous ek's with its proper subframe. My car isnt slammed its my daily driver. My resonator actually got yanked off in a parking lot and i had to get the exhaust repaired. Should I use a eg or dc2 t bracket? All I care about is the clearance on my exhaust so it isnt scraping everywhere and my axles. My mechanic told me its due to my subframe setup or t bracket. He has a k swap ek MUCH lower than mine and his doesnt scrape over driveways where I would. I asked him but he said its most likely a t bracket I have to replace he couldnt give me a 100% sure answer if that would be the fix because he never had anybody with a ek with a b swap sitting on a eg subframe. I just dont want to buy the bracket then have it do the same exact amount of scraping, If anybody has encountered this problem and can help its much appreciated.

The only way to find out is to Change the T bracket if you're not sure which one you have. I use a EG subframe with DC T bracket in a EM1 and don't have any issue.

I think you should go back and ask the previous owner what exactly did he do to go from a k-series to a b-series.

I tried but he sold the car because he was moving to florida, and i called and it says his number is not in service anymore. ive looked up so many times and some people just say to go from a eg subframe back to ek subframe.
That is going to cost a pretty penny, besides i dont want to swap it back to an ek then pay to swap it back to an eg when i go K. I know people have a b series on a eg subframe i just want to know if a dc or eg T bracket have any difference in terms of the height clearance of the motor/exhaust.

yes, the si t bracket needed for a b swap in an ek is not the same as the dc you'd use in an eg.

OK, simply put... IF the "T" bracket you have on your swap now has all four bolts installed properly through it, it cannot be anything other than a USDM DC2/JDM EG "B" series "T" bracket. The distance between the front bolt hole and rear bolt hole is SHORTER on the EK "B" series bracket when compared to the DC2 bracket... by about an inch.

If you have stock mounts, the engine will be in the proper location within the engine bay... and if you are experiencing exhaust system "dragging" or interference issues, I suspect your header choice is more of the problem or your car is too low... or a combination of both.

the ride height has to be super low in order for the headers to be scraping, thats common sense

They are headers i took off of my old hatch that got totaled. I never had scraping issues with them and now i do. My car is actually sitting higher then my older one since this is a daily. And like i said my mechanic has a k swap hatch thats lower than mine and his doesnt scrape. The car came on blox shocks with skunk2 springs. I know it isnt the best combo but the ride isnt bouncy so i doubt its a culprit. Im going to see if the t bracket is bent or cracked in any way.

Okay Ive been really busy lately so sorry I havent been able to post pictures. Like someone mentioned i went to go check to see if it indeed was a eg t bracket and its missing one bolt and along the bottom where it form the t shape it has a crack on one side. So one side kind of tips down slightly. Towards the back. It doesnt even look like it lines up with that bolt. I couldnt get any clear pic because my flash on my phone Doesnt work anymore. My friend was cool enough to give me the 5 speed dc2 t bracket from his parts car and im going to try that out and keep you posted. Hopefully that solves the problem. Although its strange, ive never seen a t bracket develop a crack. It isnt huge but ill get a clear picture of it once its swapped out.
