Default Header wrap still considered a bad time?

I have a stainless steel header that i'm wanting to do some type of heat insulation work on. I have a shop local to me that does ceramic thermal coating for around $225. Plus about a week of down time. I found a few header wrap kits from top notch companies selling for around $50 shipped and around an Hour install time.

Now I've seen many horror stories on numerous forums of header wrap rusting and even cracking tubing. Most are either on mild steel manifolds or turbo applications. Any of you all motor b series guys run header wrap without issue?

I have a china junk header with DEI titanium wrap, no issues/cracks so far. Hood temps came down. If I had a nice header, I'd spring for the coating.

Only issue I've ever seen as a serious risk is people who get the cheaper wraps that contain fiberglass then get oil spilt onto them and are a risk to catch fire....usually this is also due to people putting the wrap totally over the header even under the oilpan and bang fire ....but that was once on a cheaper eBay header that came with the wrap

I'm going to go with the thermal coating. Found out the place that does it near me coats the inside of the tubing and offers a one time re coat warranty if it ever starts to flake off. Not bad for $225. A week of down time will give me an excuse to install my clutch and flywheel.

You could thermal coat and still wrap it.
