In need of help
I'm having problems with my engine and oil light. I have no Cel on. The car drives fine up until about 20min of driving then the oil light begins to come on. First it's a light fade but if you continue to drive it will stay on red. When I come to a stop light and then try to drive off the engine will begin to hesitate and shut down. This also happens when I try to change gears as well (Automatic). The only way it works is if I let the car roll at about 3-4mph then try to press the gas again but when I do that the oil light starts flashing. All the lights stay on even after the engine shuts down. I've been having this problem for about 3 months now it has the proper amount of fuel and oil. I don't know much about cars either so any suggestions will help. If this post is in the wrong place let me know.
Oil pressure switch is located above the oil filter.
Verify it is not leaking.
Next would be to verify that oil pressure is not dropping when the car becomes heat soaked, this may show there is a problem with the oil pump/pressure relief valve.
Verify oil pressure is correct with an oil pressure gauge installed where the oil lamp switch is located.
If the engine was dying because of lack of oil(seizing up) then the engine would not restart or run correctly after the first time.
Verify there is no damage to the electrical harness underhood.
Verify the battery is fully charged.
Verify the battery cables are clean, tight and not corroded.
Verify the main grounds are clean tight and not corroded.
Verify the engine mount bonding jumper is not loose/missing.
Verify the harness ground to intake manifold is not loose/corroded/missing.
Year, sub model and engine would help in identifying where to look.
Seems more like an electrical issue with the oil light coming on and the engine then running badly after a timeframe. I would suspect heat soak is causing an electrical fault. If the oil light came on and the engine shut off then I would say the engine was run without oil/oilpressure. But it seems your car is fine to restart after a while with no problems until the heat soak issue occurs again.

1990 Honda accord 4Dr lx 4cyl and wouldn't an electrical issue cause the headlights and the other lights to go out too when the car shuts down

I think he's saying/hoping it's a switch issue. The light blinks at ~2.5psi. Assuming it, the switch, is working correctly. Life it is working correctly, it means you have low oil pressure. How long since your last oil change?
I would say around May of last year was the most recent oil change. The engine was taken apart and put back together around the same time

If the lights and other devices also died(radio, heater, lights, etc) then there would be a problem with the battery, battery cables or main electrical fuse box/harness or main grounds would be very loose or damaged.
Engine wiring harness is its own system attached to the car, you could disconnect the engine harness and the headlights/radio/windows would still function.
