Icon5 Need Help On My B18C1 OEM Rebuild

Okay well i bought a B18C1 motor off a friend that has no compression in cylinder 1 for $200, Motor Still Ran on 3 cylinders , minimal metal shavings in oil. , i am looking to getting it rebuilt , i've done some research already and seen alot of people rebuilding them to other specs other than oem , this is my first rebuild so i wanna make it simple , any good tips and any good Teardown/Rebuild Threads ? Thanks for all the Help!!!!

You'll find most of the information you need in my build thread. I went through a detailed rebuild process. Your absolute best source of information, though, would be an FSM. Just Google "Honda FSM download", and the very first link you get will have everything you need.

If ur looking to put higher compression Pistons make sure u get it tuned.

But for a simple build with good gains get some oversize type r pistons, and later on add on ctr/itr cams and manifold blah blah all th high end bolt on and you'll have a killer gsr sleeper.

Definitely type r Pistons if you want bigger gains later on. You can tear the head down on your own. Since there's metal in the pan, it's either got burnt valves or busted piston rings. 75% of the time it's the valves. These motors have a bulletproof bottom end as long as you keep up with your oil. You can get by with a little port work on your own, just don't over do it. Resurface the head and check guides, it'll be a good learning experience
