how do u figure 1500???? i have spent way less than even 500 to make about 135-140 at the flywheel on my d15b1....and the d15 really isnt worth spending to much money on unless u can make some crazy pistons and rods and some say the crank wont hold alot of power but who knows save for a b series or d16 vtec and turbo it all depends on how much u got to spend or want to spend
If you really want power out of the d15b2 go for the mini me swap. Vtec head and mpfi on the d15 block. Otherwise I would look into an engine swap...I have the same car and I chose the swap path because it gave me more options.

Multiport is the required mod to do anything with a d15. Otherwise it's like trying to tie your shoes with one finger. Start there, and think I/H/E, P&P, and a cam.
Just those mods alone will make it behave like a completely different motor.
No need for a swap if you have a little faith
heh heh

d16y7 head (NON vtec DX head)
d16z6 intake manifold
b18a throtle body
MPFI pm6 ecu
d16y8 headgasket
the most i spent was 60 on the head bolts and 30 on the headgasket....the head was cheap under 50 the intake was for a trade flywheel and some oher crap TB i had laying around from my b18 thats siting pm6 from a friend for minor work to his car but it can be done for under 500
My friend ran a 15.0 with a bone stock SI hatch stripped down. Are you sure your using one for a FF?
would i be better off spending my money on a b16a engine instead?yes sir
I love having a D series that beats B series.
I dont see a 15 flat with the d15, dx head, etc, i dont see that, WITH DX tranny. I just dont see it. I ran a 16.9 with a dual cam zc and dx tranny. And that was 3 straight runs at 16.9, got an SI tranny and ran a 15.8, with just exhaust. But...

Its not that I dont believe it, its just the DX tranny part. I mean if thats the case, you got an SI tranny you can run a low 14 man. I am sure that the combo you have is ultra high compression, and you got the "d series type r" intake manifold, lol. But the thing that catches me about it is the DX tranny. You sure its DX tranny and not an si? lol Either way its a great time, but if it is a DX i would look into an SI....
actually i blew the differential on the dx trans it was a 88 4dr trans i pulled my self and installed my self from a 88 4dr dx which has a diff diff from the dx civic and crx the gear is closer to a si but not as extreme.....now i have a si trans and i hate it it tops out to quick and i cant get any good passes with it best ive done has been a 15.7 my mph has gone down as well as my time has....all in all i like the dx trans better for what it got me. but im deff sure its a dx since the thing came outa a car at my junkyard white 4dr dx
