this is second time my A/C belt snap-off and break. happened while driving on the highway. this is only 3 weeks old A/C belt. see pictures.
symptom before happened, the air-condition blowing plain air, not cool air and suddenly I smells something like burning rubber. stop aside, and then smoke came out from underhood. lift the hood only to find out the broken belt. do you guys any idea why this can happened for the second time? need help so bad.
this BANDO belt is installed by a mechanic. when i take a look at the number on the broken belt, it is 4PK810. I searched online looking for Honda parts, they specifies the number for AC belt is 4PK795. Does this numbers means there are difference in length and may lead to compressor locked up or over tensioning?
As tony suggested, have you tried turning the idler pulley, compressor pulley, and compressor clutch armature plate by hand to check whether they are seized?
It's D16A7 non-vtec. i can turn the idler pulley but there are minor clicking sound, hard to notice. is that normal? but compressor pulley and comp. clutch plate stuck too bad. ****! i cannot turn them at all.
