My friend just bought a 93 del sol and when we left the guys house after the car got up to operating temp it starts lurching bad when you get past a quarter way of throttle but quits when you get it over 4 thousand rpms the check engine light will go off sometimes and run a little better but when it comes on it does it pretty bad. The previous owner replaced the fuel pump plugs wires distributor rotor and cap and main relay any ideas? And doesn't want to start i think it's a fuel issue

 

There are many variables here. First off, what is the check engine light code?

Sounds like previous owner was trying to "throw parts" at a problem he was having, got tired of messing with it and sold it.

 

Start with pulling the codes.
