Default Block rod and piston combination

Ok so I'm doing a new engine build and i want to do a b18c motor. I have a c1 with a spun rod and don't wana disassemble it rite now, but can a b18c5 bare for 120$ so I think I'm going to do that. I did some searching but could find a clear answer. Are b18c c1 and c5 all have the same deck height?
I also have a ls crank and ls Manley turbo tuff rods which I plan on putting in a b18c/1/5 motor depending on which way I go. Now for pistons is there any difference between b18b and b18c Pistons?

All B18C (and the B16B, actually) blocks are the exact same part, save for the number stamped on them.

Not sure exactly what your question is regarding pistons. Some features are different between the two, some are the same. What in particular is your concern?

Sorry I wasn't more clear, with ls crank and rods in a b18c block what Pistons do I use? I'll be using aftermarket, cp's or arias, but do I use Gsr? Or ls? Is there a difference? Iv read some things that contradict each other as far as the Pistons being being the same height

LS pistons go with LS rods.

The ****?

Look at the B18c5 and see how the cylinder walls are. Look for imperfections as that will give you an idea of what pistons you can use. Stock bore is 81mm, but if there are deep gouges, cavitation, or the walls are out of round, you will need to oversize. MOST B-series aftermarket pistons have a compression height of 30mm, so the ones you pick will completely depend on your bore.

Keep in mind you are basically making a lower compression LSvtec because the deck height is taller on B18c blocks. Use the link OneBadTurboCRV posted to get a GENERAL IDEA of your compression using numbers the piston manufacturers supply.

No, the deck height on a b18c block is NOT different. the zeal calculator has variations for reasons i can't figure out, but the deck height isn't different. and yes, you match LS pistons with LS rods because GSR pistons won't fit LS rods properly. It's a thing, it's well documented as a thing. LS pistons have wider small ends and won't fit a GSR piston.

I'm not talking about BORE SIZE at all. I'm talking about the differences between the rod small end vs the piston.

He says he's going all aftermarket, am I missing something?
I didn't realize the calculator was incorrect in the deck height, my bad.

Cool I'm not terribly concerned with my compression numbers, I want around 10:1, just want to be sure I don't buy the wrong Pistons for my rods. I searched for the piston rod combo but couldn't get a clear answer. And as far as the cylinders go, sleeves, so the condition of those aren't as important

Sleeved, nice. Pretty serious build then? I have a set of pistons you may be interested in, I'll pm you.
