I've got 1999 Accord EX, 2.3, MT. Just bought it about a month ago and has about 179,000 miles on it. When driving, I get this rattle that I think is coming from the front, but sometimes I'm not sure. I'll drive it and be absolutely certain it's in the front and other times wonder if it's in the rear. I still think it's in the front because when it's cold, I think I can feel the rattle through the floor board.
Anyway, my tie rods were worn so I replaced them (inner and outer) and replaced my sway bar endlinks (even though I think they were old, but fine). The mounts for the sway bar were in great shape so I didn't replace them. The rattle still persists. I've climbed under the car multiple times and pounded, shoved, and shaken everything I can and rocked the car like crazy but I can't find anything loose or reproduce the noise. The struts are not leaking, but there asome part on the front struts that has come loose that looks like it's some kind of rubber damper maybe? I still don't think it's the culprit because I don't think those parts are making contact when the rattle is happening, but I may be wrong. Here are some pics:
Can someone give me an idea of what to check/where to look next?
