Default 06 SI K20Z vs engine possibilities

Ok so I have a 2006 SI with a K20Z3 in it. It wont build compression. The vehicle sat for 7 months due to a problem with the Starter and clutch going out. It has a comptech supercharger, skunk 2 exhaust and short throw shifter as well as other mods that are not really pertinent to the engine. The ECU was mapped by comptech or Hondata.

Here are my options spend the money to diagnose whats wrong internally and try to fix that. Find a replacement motor?

If I go with the replacement motor, I am finding them on ebay in the K20A, now I am not a genius when it comes to this but one location says the k20A JDM motor is 215 hp 11.5:1 and is priced at $800. plus shipping.

I am just looking for some input as I still owe money on the vehicle it is NOT a daily driver I have my motorcycle. If I go with a motor swap what should I look for in terms of putting my supercharger back on, should I stick with the k20z3?

Your thoughts are welcome and wanted.

The JDM K20A comes in 140hp or 220+HP Type R layout.

Easy way to tell...you don't want it unless it has a red valve cover. The R motors are expensive. But they're the most similar to your Z3.

You could also buy a Z3 from an ebay junkyard. They're everywhere.

A K24A2 is another great choice. But will require a few changes to swap in. You'll need to lower the rev limit a bit (I'm assuming tuneable ECU). But it has tons of torque and responds really well to superchargers.

The $800 K20A is the one found in the EP3. It doesn't have 3 lobe VTEC, and it makes like 140HP.

Since you already have a k20 head you could also do a k hybrid where you do a k24 bottom with a k20 head. High compression pistons and it can make some serious power.
