What year door locks and ignition cylinder are compatible with a 2015 Honda Civic?
I recently bought a brand new 2015 Honda Civic, but unfortunately My other car (2003 Toyota Camry), was carjacked at my home. The thieves not only took my Camry, but the keys to the Honda Civic were stolen as well. The cost to re-key the car is around $1,300 at the dealership, which I don't have at the moment, and my insurance doesn't cover the cost of the key. I know my civic is the 2011 to 2015 ninth generation. My question is will a previous generation (8th 2005 to 2011) door lock and ignition cylinder work for my new civic? Its hard to find a ninth generation civic parts car with the car being new. Will I still need to get the car programmed, or is there a trick to be able to program the key myself. Any help is greatly appreciated.
First off, the 9th gen is not new, 10th gen is already out. No, you can't program it yourself.
This is probably the part number: 06351-TR0-961

Who do you have for insurance that they don't cover immobilizer keys?
Either way, the lock set replacement is not going to be cheap.
Permanent solution:
Buy a shotgun and big dog. Shoot thieves in the face.

When u get new keys they can be reprogrammed as all keys lost, meaning the old keys will no longer start the vehicle. Down leave valuable **** in the car and u should be fine. Also, do you some how not have insurance?!
