Default 05 RSX no heater..

So I was told to drain and possibly replace the thermostat, I did, but all I get is cold. I was told it might be my gauges that for whatever reason it's reading cold if that makes any sense. Any suggestions of what it might be?

blocked heater core is my thinking, like are you actually only getting cold air when the heat is on or are the gauges showing cold when you have hot air?

You need to bleed it more, probably a bubble in the system or low coolant.

with the car cool check your radiator, the coolant should be maxed out. if it is low, this is a reason why your air is cold

Also, if your radiator is low, go ahead and completely top off the overfill tank as when the car cools down the air will vent out and will draw coolant from this tank.

Basically when you squeeze the radiator hoses, they should feel pretty solid when your car is cool. They should not be easily compressed as that's another indicator you still have air in the system.

There is no reason for your heater core to be blocked. Have you done any work on it lately? Any coolant leaks? Can you see if the heater core valve is opening when you turn the dial from cold to hot(air doesn't have to be blowing). It should be near the firewall somewhere, haven't looked for it on my rsx, but on the civic it's on passenger firewall. Basically you want to see the little servo or whatever it is, the heater arm will rotate as you turn the dial.
