Default High Idle, did all the basics. Any advanced input? (Solved: eBay Manifold)

Hey HT. Here's my situation:

Perfectly good IACV (changed twice)

Idle is at 1400 rpm (warmed up)
I can drop it to 1150 rpm lowest on crome by adjusting the IACV

Only time i can get the idle to 850 is plugging the air bypass inside the throttle body with my thumb (not completely but just enough to get idle to drop to 850)

Am I missing something here? Is there any input signals from the engine that affect IACV besides ECT?

Did all the basics: Adjust idle screw and TB screw, even changed the TB and IACV to known working ones, bleed coolant, checked for vacuum leaks.. Everything seems good. Im almost considering blocking the TB by pass hole completely with a gasket and just adjust idle with the idle screw.

Figured out the problem. Ebay intake manifold was machined improperly allowing air to flow into the manifold. Although everything else is the same as a skunk2 manifold there are some flaws in the machining of this manifold. Buyers Beware!!

The proper fix would be to weld up the low area in the casting and re machine the gasket flange surface. You could try using some hondabond in the gap and see if you can get the leak to seal. Make sure you give the hondabond plenty of time to dry before starting the car to check the idle... you don't want to draw that sticky mess into your IACV or into the intake. I would suggest laying in a bead of HB, install the gasket and throttle body, torque down your T/B bolts and nuts, wait 3 hours and then start the car.

Oh, and there is a lesson here. Cheap **** on Ebay is just that... "The bitter taste of poor quality lasts far longer than the excitement of a great price". Spend a little more with your local speed shop... you will find that many free perks come from a quality local shop, even if the price is a few dollars more than online. Also, in the event that you get a substandard or damaged product, you can go to the shop for a resolution. A good shop will have your back.
