Default motor choice for my 96HB HX

I have the funds now to do a motor swap.

Should I go for a JDM B16A with around 50k mi

or

go for the B18C1 with 72k mi from my buddies 1998 GS-R.
He is parting out his car due to the fact that he got badly rear ended, but the front half of the car is fine.

there was a 96hb HX model? never knew that hehe =p.. well let's see b16a with 50k miles.. not to shabby.. but a 98 gsr motor most likely in still good condition.. and on top of that if u plug in all emmisions sesnors and parts.. u can Cruise on over to the REF and have any easier time getting it Certified by them.. .for me I'd choose the b18c for the better torque output over a b16a..but it's up to you.. I won't drive it.. you will.. good luck DS9

your boy hookin you up wit a good price on at c1 swap? you gonna be able to get all the parts from him? if so i'd do that, cause orderin a b16 or buyin from a shop can lead to horrible nitemares....i'd go for the gsr....70k miles is still young on a honda motor...peace

Maybe because he doesn't have enough funds. Also, it's much more complicated.

Get the c1 if you get a good deal. It undoubtly a better motor, but that's kind of high mileage for a swap

Other wise go with a b16 and build it, with the leftover $$.

B18C no joke.
then get a B16 tranny later on.
then LSD
then a light flywheel
then a new final drive
yeah yeah yeah, then ITR cams!

oooo oooo then some Hytech stuff,, full exhaust!
oh oh oh and some cam gears, then a chip!

and and and um, a set of hi-compression pistons!

then a brake upgrade, like wilwood! yeah!

uh, uh, ummmm, then a race seat, a sparco or something.....
yeah, that should do it.

B18C1
