So I get this weird metal sound,sortve almost like a bunch of ball bearings in a coffee can,or maybe a couple metal rings vibrating around another metal cylinder.
Anyway this is when it happens,it's not all the time I hear,but at idle and as well as driving it'll randomly happen,as if they db of my motor/the vibration makes it do it?Its pretty weird.I give the gas pedal a kick and it goes away,but while I'm driving even ittl start,but I have to maintain the rpms I was at or ittl go away.I was thinking something with my exhaust,but I listened to it while outside of the car and it sortve sounded like it was coming from the engine bay,but I'm not 100%

 

Heat shield over your cat my 88ef has the same thing I'm just to lazy to drive over some 2x4s and get a Jack under it and either take it off or tighten it or ya know full exhaust system

 

Makes a lot of sense that sounds exactly like what I hear,it's just the dude who sold me it said the exhaust is straight through,maybe the cat is hollowed..I haven't really looked at it yet car is slammed.ive only had it a month or so.

 

Well the cat could be hollowed and the previous owner could be correct but the heat shield is located on the outside is the car straight piped cat back?

 

I don't know what the exhaust is lol I was only told its straight through it could be hollowed or test piped or a full Skunk 2 for all I know.Im going to my buddies garage to get it on a lift to see.
