No, but the canister won't work if you do that.

What you need to do is the canister delete. Route the fumes hose down and out of the engine bay, unplug the solenoid, and plug up the holes on the intake manifold. There are specific guides on this forum for how to do this, step by step.

If you just want to remove the hoses, don't both. you aren't gaining anything but becoming a polluter.
The vapour in that canister is usually very little and is drawn into your intake during acceleration. It actually helps gain mpg (very very little, but still) as well.

Your car isn't a show car. You rarely open your hood. The rest of your engine bay is dirty.
Just leave it alone.

You can delete the canister competely.
It holds pressure vapors from the gas tank to burn later on.

Just remove the hoses and plug the lines to the engine
Leave the one that comes out the firewall(It vents the gas tank).
Tape up the electrical plug and save the parts, you might need them for emissions. You might, not like the gas smell or may not like the 1-2 drop in mpg.

I would just leave it.

If you don't remove the canister, you can't remove the hoses. Simple. We already told you the canister won't work without the hoses.

Everything everyone has said in this thread is wrong.

Removing those two hoses will not damage the canister. The canister will just over-flow eventually (especially when its hot out) and fumes will be vented out the bottom. The exact same thing happens if you remove the canister completely, so why waste your time?

The canister does not hold pressure whatsoever. It merely stores the fumes that get vented when the tank pressure gets over 2psi. When this happens, the 2-way valve opens and tank pressure drops to normal. The fumes are then supposed to get sucked into the motor. This reduces emissions and prevents your car from smelling like raw fuel.
