Default Quick EF swap question

I was given B16A2 by my cousin for reasons. I plan on sinking it into my 90 ef hatch, but ive never done a manual swap before. I have a 4-speed manual, and obviously need a five speed for this swap to function. Do i need to use the b series shifter box and cables or will an si's work for the swap?

Did you get the transmission as well? If so you'll need a cable to hydro kit. Also you'll need to custom weld your shift linkage or get an aftermarket unit.

Okay. Awesome. Just got a welder from him too, lucky me. Thank you so much.

Get the Hasport linkage and save some time and money. Do you have mounts? I would go with Hasport for that as well. Depending on which transmission you go with cable or hyrdo will depend on which transmission mount is required and if a cable to hydro conversion is required or not.

You don't need to buy premade hasport linkage. Such a waste of 150 + shipping dollars. It takes like two hours max to cut and weld the stock linkage. While you're at it, replace the shifter bushings with a polyurethane kit such as energy. The b16a and b16a2 heads are basically the same with slightly different flow properties. If it were me, Id use the b16a head.

maybe not everyone has access to a welder or posses the skills to cut and weld
