Default 99 d16y8 to 98 d16y7

I have a 99 civic Canadian Si(US EX) with a d16y8 that blew up, i have a 98 hatch with a d16y7. I was wondering if i could swap the alt, dizzy, and injectors from the d16y8 on to the d16y7 and use the obd2b harness and then buy the obd2b d16y7 ecu

would this work?

You'll need to use Y7 injectors - they're a little smaller, and using Y8 injectors will cause issues. You also may have to convert your IACV. A how-to can be found here. For converting from 2 wire to 3 wire, just reverse the instructions.

If following basic wiring instructions in the URL I gave you is too confusing, maybe you should fix the Y8 you have instead of swapping for whatever reason.
