Default Coilover Help

Okay so I'm looking for aftermarket coilovers and all the ones I've found lower the car. I have stupid 19 inch rims on this car that I didn't put on and I don't want to buy new rims and tires, these rub good on every bump but only on the back. So I'm in need of a decent aftermarket coilovers that I can adjust so I don't get so much suspension travel. 93 Del Slow 1.6, looking to stay under $800.

If your condition is to keep the 19 inch wheels why are you looking at coilovers at all? Are you attempting to stop the rubbing with a stiffer shock and/or spring? You might want to try looking into Koni yellows to use with whatever springs you already have but the obvious answer is to get some appropriate sized wheels for your car.

Also, you can run these if you want that 4x4 stance with your 19 inch wheels.

2" Block Lift Kit for HONDA CR-V 1997-2001 (also fits Civic, Integra, Del Sol, CRX) - Lifts for CR-V, RAV4 and More!

Combine that with a full coilover setup and you may actually have a stiffer suspension that will clear those "stupid" 19 inch wheels.

So pretty much what you're saying is regardless of what suspension I have its going to rub because of how ridiculously large the wheels are. So I should just replace the coil overs and say put 16s on instead and this will done my problem. And what about cut out flares? Amini's 19 don't rub anywhere else but one specific spot and I can turn my wheel to the left and right fully without any rub.

I'm not saying that as the bottom line but 19 inch rims are humongous on our little cars. Typically most coilover set ups even at maximum height are a bit lower than stock. If you feel so inclined you can use a mallet if you want to make some clearance in specific spots as needed. If it's on the wheel wells you can roll the fenders and/or do a fender pull. All depends on where it's rubbing specifically. What you want to make sure is that you won't damage anything if you want to bang out some extra room.

Flares are up to you. Size/style of rims are up to you (we all have different tastes/priorities).

It seems whoever had the car before me already tried to roll the fenders out. I also have wheel spacers on that are 1 inch that I thought would help and they did help in the front with the steering and in the back it doesn't rub on the inside anymore but now the tire sticks out a little bit from the body I'd say about a half inch and that's where it's rubbing is on the very outside of the wheel well. If I were to get a roller could it get that very edge? I can post a picture if need be.

That's a possibility and probably the quickest fix. You can also look into smaller spacers.

Aside from the roller tool, you might be able to do the bat trick or just massage it out with a mallet. Keep in mind that it probably won't look as nice without the proper tool and technique.

Is there any roller in particular that you suggest and where can I go about renting one of these because I'm only going to use it once and I'm going to need to I'm going to say at least another inch and a half for clearance, I'm assuming I can get it to roll out pretty far or pretty flat correct? I live in the Pittsburgh area. Thanks

That car is going to rust so badly after all the scraping and fender rolling.

Just buy wheels that fit.
