1990 Honda civic dies when driving it.
I have a 1990 Honda Civic I am trying to get running for my brother. We have replace the fuel pump, fuel filter, all new spark plugs and wires, new alternator, and icm. The cars starts and runs but out of no where dies while running. Can someone please help.
Do I need to do that even though the battery and alternator are both brand-new. I drove it today to get a better ideal of what's going on. It slowly dies after driving it for about 10 minutes and giving it has does nothing, but it will start right back up after it shuts completely down
The air filter is new too. Sorry it's hard to remember all the things we already done to it. It was sitting for 3 years so we changed the oil and did a tune up on it. We really are at a major loss and I really don't have the cash to help him get a better vehicle
The Fast Idle Thermo Valve (FITV) could cause the rpms to drop and stall the motor once the engine warms up. Check out this link "https://honda-tech.com/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/how-fix-your-idleing-woes-fitv-iacv-2153910/". There is a good possibility this is the issue if the battery and alternator are brand new. Luckily this is a cheap fix.
