Default RadioCode

Hi! So I recently bought a 97 Accord special addition but the radio was locked. I have seen that some people were kind enough to give us the code on here so I was wondering if someone could help me with that?

Model# 39100-SV4-C500
REF# CQ-JH1611Z
Serial# M96H103454

Call Honda of America. Update new owner information. Tell them the battery was replaced and you do not have the radio code.

Thanks, however I am Canadian and I have not transferred it yet as I am getting it prepared for the safety test at the moment. It just happens to be easier to wait and get the car up to par when you don't have insurance to get a temp yet.

So will that still work or should I pursue another option?

In any case, it would be much obliged if someone could inbox me the code. It would be much easier for me. I tried calling the Canadian dealerships but they want me to go to my closest dealership which is a bit of a distance. >.>

At this rate it may just be easier to purchase a new radio instead haha. =P

Different dealers will give you different information or no information. Keep calling or do some google searches for places that might get/give you the code.....or as you stated a new radio

A friend at work needed the e-brake override code for a 6th gen, I think he called about five different dealers before one of them gave him the code over the phone.

Did the car come with the original owners manual? Sometimes people write the code in there!

@Poorman212
Ok thanks, I will give it another shot on Monday.

@GhostAccord
Yeah, I checked all the places. Glove box, Ash Tray, Doors and Trunk. No luck on those and no manual or card. T_T

Try this website bro, https://radio-navicode.honda.com/

When I had to unhook my battery to fix my dash I had the same issue and found the website above which gave me the code to my radio. All you need is your vin and the radio serial number and boom you got your code.

@PsXtreme

Yeah, that is a cool website but I have a "Postal code" (6 digits/characters) not a "Zip code" (5 digits/characters).

Im not sure it really matters what zip code you put in there as long as its from the USA. 90210, 20814, 22554, 22401 anything really.

I just tried it with my own vin and your radio serial and got a code of 21454 so it appears it will work with any usa zip code and phone number.

@PsXtreme

Oh, okay thanks I appreciate that! Yeah I'm sure that would have been true without you even saying so. The bigger problem is I did not have a zip code, nor did I know anyone with it and it would not let me put the 6th digit for the postal code haha!

Again, thank you, I appreciate it very much!

Done! As soon as I get tape I'm putting in the glove box on the dash too! Right where it is supposed to be.
