Default New distributor problem

Ok needing some help. I have a 96 civic with a 96 gsr swap. I just purchased another new distributor fromy jhpusa and installed and hour ago. Went for a drive and rpm started jumping and bouncing, car would lose power/torque when this happened. This is actually my second time installing a brand new distributor this month. Last one was from oreilly and did the same after a day or so. Iv searched and read usually igniter is the problem, but my thing is the distributors have been brand new. Is it something I may be doing wrong?

Just going out on a limb here, but check your alternator's output voltage.

Check your mechanical timing. And make sure the spark plugs are in the correct position.
