Default 2.3l Cylinder head Warped?

I have a 2001 Honda accord 2.3l and I was driving my car home the other day on the highway and I noticed my temp gauge was past the hot mark. I pulled over checked the antifreeze and there was none. I let the car sit for a bit and started to drive it home I would pop start it so the engine didn't get to hot. When it would get back up there I would pull over and let it cool down. I got it home after a 20 minute trip turned into 2 hours. I found that a heater core hose had a slit in it. I replaced it and put fluid back in and bleed the system.
I started the car up today to go to work and got 5 mins down the road until the check engine light started to flash at me and the car lost power and started shaken real bad. I turned around and at this point is sounds like a lawnmower and parked it at my house. I tried to take the spark plug wires out and all the boots are melted down in there I tried picking them out but nothing.

Do you guys think the cylinder head is warped or a bad engine now?
Before I start ripping it apart I just want to make sure if I need a head or I should just replaced the whole engine.

Thanks guys.

The best thing to do is to find a way to pull all the spark plugs and buy a compression tester and test it.

Ya I was trying to do that but the spark plug boots are melted so badly to the head. I ended up ripping the cylinder head off to see how the gasket was and that looked good. I think the head warped because its leaking antifreeze and the way it was running was like it was misfiring.
So tomorrow I'm going to pick up a new one and see if that fixes the problem.

Take the head to the machine shop, or buy a rebuilt one. Also, make sure the block isnt warped...it shouldnt be, but you got it really hot.
